Valor Health Solutions Featured in Johnson City Press for Ketamine-Assisted Therapy Program
We’re honored to share that Valor Health Solutions was recently featured in a local news article by the Johnson City Press, highlighting our work in advancing mental health treatment through ketamine-assisted therapy and integrative care.
The article, “Valor Health Solutions helps mental health with ketamine treatments, therapy,” explores how our clinical team is pairing evidence-based ketamine infusions with therapy and wellness services to support individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and related conditions.
Opening Doors That Have Been Closed for a Long Time
Our Director of Therapy, Natalie Calcott, LCSW, spoke with the Press about how ketamine therapy creates new opportunities for healing:
“How ketamine in therapy works is it opens the pathways and the doors that have been closed for a long time. A lot of times, through the ketamine experience, they’re able to have a different perspective. That can be extremely valuable, especially for our veterans.”
As the article explains, Valor Health Solutions was founded with the belief that mental health care should be accessible, comprehensive, and patient-centered. Our approach combines ketamine-assisted therapy with ongoing clinical support—rather than positioning ketamine as a standalone or replacement treatment.
“Ketamine is best used when coupled with therapy and coupled with these other forms of treatments,” Natalie explained. “We’re not a replacement for all these different things. We’re a wonderful coupling to the things people are already trying.”
Proven Results: 70-80% Success Rate
Nikki Roberts, FNP, our Director of Clinical Services, shared the outcomes she’s observed over more than three years of administering ketamine treatments:
“It’s very safe and it’s got a fast half-life. So, patients can be in a disassociated state, and then when the infusion is done, within minutes they’re back to their normal state with minimal side effects. It improves mood, it reduces suicidal ideation, it improves emotional flexibility and definitely improves pain control… I see about a 70 to 80% success rate with it.”
This integrated model helps patients access deeper emotional insight, relief from treatment-resistant symptoms, and improved overall well-being. Our clinical leadership emphasizes that ketamine treatments are carefully administered, medically supervised, and designed to work alongside therapy—not instead of it.
Supporting Veterans Through VA Partnership
The Johnson City Press article also highlights our commitment to serving veterans and first responders—communities that often face unique mental health challenges, including PTSD and moral injury.
Valor Health Solutions is actively working to expand access for veterans through a developing partnership with the Mountain Home VA Medical Center. CEO Wes Wrather shared details on this initiative:
“We’re in the process of getting a contract with the VA so that we can become a community care provider. When they go to psych at the VA, they can outsource to us, and the VA will cover it with their insurance.”
The contract is projected to be finalized within the next 30 days, creating a new pathway for veterans to access ketamine therapy through their VA benefits.
“In healthcare, unlike some other industries, we really all should be supporting the individual,” Wes added. “We want to be an additional tool and a resource to really anybody that will understand the benefits of these treatments.”
Our Mission: Outcomes, Not Indefinite Care
At the same time, our services are designed to support the entire community, ensuring that anyone seeking innovative, evidence-based mental health care has a safe and supportive place to turn.
Our philosophy is clear: we measure success by patient outcomes, not ongoing appointments.
“At the end of the day, we want to be able to get this intervention out there and to genuinely help as many people as possible. [This is] not a business where we bring people in and we want to have people in our care indefinitely—we really want these people to come in and make outcomes, and then go live a fulfilling life.”
— Wes Wrather, CEO
